Potent performances, and an interesting view into the despairing and disgusting human nature, but I didn't like how stage-like the settings were. I hoped the scenes to be more dynamic, now it was too on the nose that this is a stage script adaption.

Were only the characters' motivations as clear as the settings and the light, I could place the piece easier as a feminist work. So it's class, class, class. It certainly isn't easy on a modern audience - with all the blood and guts spilled in the way of the great playwrights - in the way of Bergman too. Yet I found it completely engrossing, harsh, enlivening, beautiful.
