Milka's got a mother who's slow or blinded by her own lust that she cannot see what's happening under her very eyes. Story's got many layers, and place and moment of time is shown well. The directing then again fails in several fields. The use of amateur actors does not help the thing. The difficult life of a widow with a girl child and (cruel) fellow village people director catches more or less okay. The birch woods are stunning and vital pictorial element in this flick.
