Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always

I use to watch the original Power Rangers religiously when it first aired, I even dragged family to endure the movie. I have absolutely no memory of any of these people lol

Worst than the original show but at least it wasn't disrespectful to the original.

The fact that they reproduced the terrible CGI of the old show makes this a cool nostalgia trip. Nothing more, nothing less.

Not perfect, but Power Rangers fans will enjoy it. Tonally matches the original series, keeps the same sense of humor and cheesy monsters (Snizzard, the snake lizard specifically). Just a fun time. May the power protect you.

I know that PR is supposed to be cheesy but god damn this is on the nose. The acting is mostly terrible, specifically from David Yost. Look, it's Power Rangers. Everything here works as intended, and you can either embrace it or not. I know this is a terrible movie that is completely beholden to nostalgia, so I won't pretend that it was anything other than nostalgia that made me enjoy this.

I was probable a tiny bit too old when Power Rangers originally hit its popularity, so while I did watch it I don't have that much nostalgia for it. But this is a nice little throwback for us that experienced the the first run. Actually, I think I got a bigger kick out of this than I ever did of this franchise when I was younger.

I’m gonna try and give this the benefit of the doubt, but man does this just feel sad to watch. There were many obstacles for this project to even get made and those obstacles are quite glaring that if feels kind of distasteful. It was kind of cool to see a couple of the people return, but it does not do anything to adapt with its audience in today’s world, making you wonder who this was for. In the end it’s kinda cool, but feels hollow and bizarre for current day expectations.

Bro this is rough – it's like a feature length skit that some YouTuber would do before reviewing a Power Rangers video game; I kept expecting someone to announce that since Rita Repulsa is back today we're reviewing Power Rangers for Sega Genesis. The Black Ranger actor has aged well, I'll give him that. I know Thuy Trang has passed but centering the plot on the Yellow Ranger's murder seems a bit grim to me. People complained about Power Rangers 2017 but it's pretty objectively better than this.
