An interesting piece of film-making. Golino's single-character study is very effective in building up a complex protagonist and trying to show her emotional and moral struggles, rather than the expected "running from the law" film that a male director might be inclined to make. Although I was captivated for 60 minutes, I felt the film's denouement was not meaty enough and left me unsatisfied. A good enough film, but for a bolder Italian female director/star combo, see Scherson's "Il futuro".

could be a more powerful film if it could stay impartial and less didactic in the last twenty minutes, but still i liked the ambiguous camera which is purely contingent like the modern lives we lead and the antonioni-like frames at some points... it would be better without the "pretending to be romantic" last scene.
