Unrelentingly depraved and disgusting. The story is very fragmented and the animation is choppy at best but the director's uncompromising vision is a sight to behold. I can give this praise even as I can honestly say that I did not enjoy watching this.

The animation isn't great, but you will never find this level of perverse insanity outside of Japan, and I loved it for that.

It's kind of hard to rate this movie, because sure it's a no-budget production with a somewhat-disjointed story... But at the same time, it's a great admirable artistic endeavor by the director. He had so much dedication to the project, and was so uncompromising in the face of censorship, even if it meant extreme difficulty when it came time to publish the film, that it's hard not to respect the final product.

An orphaned girl is tricked into joining a freakshow and is subjected to continuous physical and sexual abuse, until a potential savior arrives in the form of a magical dwarf. This could only come from Japan. Low budget animation that largely consists of montages of still images, but it's absolutely bursting with grotesque and bizarre visuals. Doesn't really make sense, but it's satisfyingly twisted.

while I appreciate its unique, nightmarish style and the drawing is very impressive, this is narratively quite poor and strangely paced. at any rate, its definitely remarkable

Pretty much the only thing ero-guro that has ever made it to the big screen. Ero Guro manga as such is a pretty controversial genre even in Japan. One anime-reviewer noted that there's a bigger chance of lolicon making it in the US, than Ero-guro Manga. Even "Midori" was pretty much solely animated by one person, so it's everything but a high-budget film. Midori is pretty much the only movie I know that depicts the abuse of a girl at such a high-level.(Well, discounting some S&M hentai)
