The latest crime wave has Scotland Yard baffled. Commissioner Hope sends two of his officers to the Midnight Club to check up on a couple of shady characters - Colin Grant and Arthur Bradley and a girl, Iris Witney. There have been a number of jewel robberies around town recently, but, unknown to the police, these three have the perfect alibis! They have found "doubles", and while they are out committing the robberies, their doubles spend the night at the club. (imdb)

A pretty sweet crime story with plenty of humor as George Raft goes after some jewel thieves by pretending to be one too. The leader of the gang is Clive Brook doing splendidly as the gentleman burglar, being very British about it. Clever plot, cleverly done, and with a terribly unclever pay-off. The simple end just ruined the whole experience. It was like they ran out of imagination after starting out so well.
