Midnight Alibi

What a odd entry of the Warner Bros gangster library! Richard Barthelmess is a slick looking gangster returning from abroad after the end of prohibition. While hiding from machine guns Barthelmess finds shelter at the home of old rich lady Helen Lowell and we get a tragic-romantic flashback some 45 years ago when the reclusive lady was young. And it turns into a sweet good-hearted quest for love. Just watch it. It's both cool and absurdly sweet the way things happen.

It gets points for being an oddity but not for anything else.
