Bud heads a gang of swindlers and Lou is the fall guy. When things up north get too hot, the boys head south of the border to cool off and start a mining scam. Watch for the hilarious bullfighting scene. Believe it or not, this is based on a Cole Porter musical--minus the music. (movieretriever.com)

This comedy has some fun and funny moments. Lou Costello really shines in this one, he does most of the comedic work. The story is simple but it works. Overall I would recommend this film to fans of Abbott and Costello.

The 'samba dance' gag will never get old. Amalgamated press journalist: "Can you name the consonants?" Lou Costello as Joe Bascom/Humphrey Fish: "Yes, sir. There's North America, South American and Paterson, New Jersey." You don't get great lines and delivery like that these days.

Abbott & Costello down Mexico on the run, getting played by the señoritas and naturally finding themselves right in the middle of the action in a bullfighting ring. Might be the weakest of their three features from 1948, but it's still the duo doing what they do best. And that's putting Costello in dangerous situations.
