Metropolitan

Lawrence Tibbett was a major star at the Metropolitan Opera, but he also did a handful of fairly ambitious Hollywood movies in the early sound era. Metropolitan (1935) relies on his energy and massive voice. He didn't exactly have a traditional Hollywood look, but still a very recognizable and a towering figure. So whenever he opened his mouth, you won't fall asleep, that's for sure. Loved how he mocked popular music in this! Felt like he truly meant it!
