Meridian

There are some seriously great ideas here that should make for a fantastic spin on Beauty & the Beast. Unfortunately, while the performances are solid & the effects aren't bad, & Sherilyn Fenn proves how above this material she is the entire runtime, everything else is pretty awful. The casual attitude towards rape, the bafflingly lazy script, the tasteless sex scenes, & the laughably stupid ending that makes the whole movie pointless are just the worst of its problems. Not much to like here.

A much more kind of adult version of beauty and the beast story. Well filmed and thought out scenes for a lower budget movie. Fenn and and Spradling are absolutely gorgeous here, and Jamieson does a fine job as well, reminiscent of Jeremy Irons style. Seek out if you've never seen it before as it holds up quite well.

First 30 minutes were really great, but after that instead of being more and more sleazy it took the melodramatic route. Meh.

Stars Sherilyn Fenn as she keeps getting her clothing torn off in a haunted castle. 'Bout all you need to know.

Crap. A "horror film" that plays more like an extended rape fantasy. That Sherilyn Fenn is so beautiful makes it all seem even worse
