Melody Ranch

Melody Ranch (1940) is sort of the closest we get to a Gene Autry A-westerns. Still in B-territory, but with a lot of guest stars and more tight as far as story goes. As a sidekick we gets something different.... Jimmy Durante in a western! Weird, but lively! Still this lacks the antics of his regular sidekick Smiley Burnette, who is nowhere to be seen. But they give a lot of time for the 3 gals. The action doesn't hit high gear and lacks a great villain, but otherwise a fine tuned Autry entry!
