Medusa Deluxe

It’s technically impressive for its extremely long takes (giving the illusion of one) and fluid camerawork, which work effectively to build bountiful tension as it drags its audience by the weave through the unsurprisingly grim competitive world of hair pageantry. But for a story involving so many intriguing female characters, it ends up focussing too heavily on its few males, while the central mystery is unsatisfyingly handled and sadly ends up being of near-total inconsequence.

Quirky, funny and hysterical at times. I never knew where things were heading. Enjoyable in its absurdity, curious to see more from the director.
