If we keep mowing down the rainforest we're gonna destroy the cure for cancer! (AND i'm gonna shoot this puppy, if you don't do something about global warming now!)

Fits in the Highlander mythos between the first and the second movie. Ramirez has gone to the Amazon jungle, where he's found (and lost) the cure for cancer. Enter Bracco's fish out of water scientist, and lo and behold the joy of watching romance and message movie intermix, like oil and ,eh, seagull. *Spoiler* And I bet all you sick little twerps feel really guilty right now, thinking back on all those occasions, where you were burning ants with a magnifying glass. YOU COULD HAVE CURED CANCER!

Something about this kept reminding me of "Six Day, Seven Nights". Maybe it's the cynically seasoned male lead and the quirky fish-out-of-water woman or the romance which is subtly brewing between them. Maybe it's the exotic locales and life threatening adventures that ultimately bring the two together. Most likely it's the fact that I accidentally put it in the case for "Six Days Seven Nights" last time I watched it.

Maybe the most boring movie I've ever seen in my life. I'm an environmentalist and I wanted the bastards to cut the forest down so the movie would be over already.

This is a boring film with a bad script. The two lead actors have zero chemistry with each other. There are a few interesting moments but not enough to make the film enjoyable. Overall this film is disappointing.

I'm a little apprehensive to revisit this movie because it was the first "adult" film I saw as a kid and actually enjoyed. When I read the synopsis now it seems cheesy but the adventure of searching the jungle for a cancer cure really appealed to me as a kid.

Good message with two good leads but ultimately it's just plain boring. It's tediously long with plenty of "nothing happening" moments. It feels like a a short story stretched out for a full length feature. And some of the soundtrack is just horrible. Jerry Goldsmith manages music that's so stereotypically tropical you'll think you're in some generic holiday resort for the opening theme.

Lorraine Bracco is very sexy here, and she needed to be, starring opposite Connery. The story itself not too intriguing.

"Inspired" by the fact that the director went to where they filmed predator, to find all the trees had been chopped down

My uncle forced me to watch this with him, professing it to be a wonderful movie. I watched it with him because watching anything with him is a wonderful experience, even when the movie is hilariously bad. If I recall, the missing part to the medicine is a process that the ants of the rainforest go through.

This is the sort of drivel Connery was doing before he retired. We need to remember that when we start lamenting his "early" retirement from the industry.

Worth it for this one Connery line alone: "Don't you get it? I found the cure to the fucking plague of the twentieth century, and now I've lost it!"
