Mechta [Dream] (1943) feels like a movie which should have been a classic, but wasn't. It's like that with Soviet movies. Either they click with you or they don't. Mechta had some things going for it. That complicated courtship, or what you may call it. The more heavy drama... wasn't feeling it. The cinematography and sets were nicely done. Maybe if in the right mood, I'd appreciate it more. But not on this day.
