A gangster boss (Ice-T) has a list of about 100 people who have screwed up at one point or another. Rather than outright killing them, he decides to have a little fun by putting all of them together in a high security prison, unarmed, and dumping bucketfulls of guns, ammo, and baseball bats on them and letting them kill each other. The final three who survive are given a prize of 10 million dollars. Let chaos reign. (imdb)

There are an elite few who have witnessed this as it was meant to be seen: late at night, unexpectedly, and with the remote just out of reach. Under those conditions, this is an excellent way to almost not fall asleep on a couch.

While not great, this film is more entertaining than it has any right to be. Ice-T is finally in a role where his hammy gangster performance seems fitting, and there is enough action that the relatively weak cast and plot don't matter very much.

Despite a decent premise (for an action movie, anyway) this film is arguably Pyuns worst. It tries constantly to be cool and quotable and fails horribly at every turn. This cringe-inducing take on action generates levels of fail not reached in that genre again until Richie's "Revolver" in 2005. Not even recomended for diehard Pyun fans (if such creatures exist).

The film was incredibly good until right before the end (although I should say surprisingly good). Some of the action was cheesy and they just decided to do a completely cartoonish when they had already finished a good death. The ending was a success for only the most despicable character in the film and a major disappointment there.

A decent premise poorly realised. In typical Pyun fashion, it's a bad film with some sense of style and a slightly off-kilter sensibility, although the latter manifests itself in annoying ways such as the mambo infused soundtrack that tries to augment the action, but the effect is jarring and closer to camp because it isn't correctly synched to movement. The action scenes are repetitive, but Pyun has a few interesting visual ideas that are almost sabotaged by hacksaw editing.

Albert Pyun never got the attention he deserved.
