Well-meant but awfully blunt. The prison serves as a microcosmic sample of Israeli society, with Ashkenazi jailors, mostly Mizrahi and Arab prisoners fighting among themselves and stubborn jabs at social commentary. There's just no subtlety to Barbash's script. It's a heap of cliches and wears its message on its sleeve.
