I saw the American 1937 remake only 2 weeks ago, Confession (1937) starring Kay Francis, and here I finally managed to track down the original German adaption - Mazurka (1935)! The American version more or less did a scene-to-scene copy. Same structure, same angles and same emotional effects. Only real different is the language and actors. This is the first talkie I see of the great silent legend Pola Negri and I must say she's a more natural fit for the lead character then Kay Francis.
