I hope you're ready to play the "wait, how did that character get there?" game, because despite its almost 2,5 hours The Death Cure does very little to actually explain what's going on. The opening heist sequence is actually promising, but once it starts getting into the overarching story it falls apart once again. I really don't know what the point is of this franchise, nor of what any of the characters in it are doing.

More mazes than Scorch Trials, less mazes than the inside of a scalp on Westworld. Our hero, along with perfect-haired Mazey McMazeson turn old-timey train-robbers to rescue their bestest British bud. Once the dust settles, hero opts to spend the next 90 minutes deciding whether or not he loves traitor-girl anymore (SPOILER: who gives a fuck?). What I learned from this movie: in the post-apocalyptic future, only the people you love die. And mutant-faced resistance leaders. START THE REACTOR.

In a review below, someone stated "Young adults are cancer". No, but middle-aged men writing FOR young adults, now THAT'S bad! Thomas might be replacing Christian Grey as the least interesting main character in cinema history. There's nothing special about him but his blood, and there's no sense of stakes because someone swoops in to save the day literally every single time. WCKD recruits Stormtroopers. I can't say exactly WHEN, but this movie jumps the shark, HARDcore. Could have been alright.

It isn't a great franchise or anything (duh) but i did enjoy it sometimes. Though i do find some things strange like, for example, how come all these people who stayed in the mazes for so long (some even years) are just perfectly stable (mental health-wise)... i mean, imagine staying trapped in there for months or even years... idk, i'd go fucking insane.

Almost comical overlength and multiple, tiring climaxes (there comes a point when you fear it is never... going... to end...) hurt what could have been a slick and memorable conclusion to this trilogy; again, strangely derivative (with a major action set piece another direct steal from THE LOST WORLD) but still fun when it works, with Gillen an enjoyable villain, and a good cast otherwise. Seriously Patricia, why did you bother showing up?

"Why are they hiding behind glass?" TheRealJ-Ro said that during the movie and I'm basing my review around it because it sums things up. The script is terrible with some illogical solutions to whatever problems they face and way too many moments where they are saved by people swooping in at the last minute. A little bit of that is expected in movies but not this much. Also, The Death Cure goes on far too long. It did not earn this runtime.

If only rational but ruthlessly utilitarian scientific concern with the big picture could hold hands with the rebellious but loyal spirit of youth, but no, actually, better just to sacrifice science and the needs of the whole and stick to the commune. One does wonder whether attitudes to the Covid-19 pandemic were shaped by this film’s “philosophy” – but I suppose that would depend on actually remembering the film. For most of the running time, an appropriate title would have been Finding Minho.

It subverted a few expectations at the end but this is the worst film in the trilogy. The action is mostly slick and fun. Some changes they made from the book are bad, but we did get a cool bus scene. Nowhere near enough zombies. Patricia Clarkson mopes around corridors and looks like she never wants to act again. Teresa (Kaya Scodelario) mopes in a lab coat and should probably never act again. The ending is stupid because it is half-book and half-nonsense.

As often happens when they open up the world in these kind of dystopian stories, the 2nd and 3rd entries are far less interesting. Also, it's not the movie's fault, but the delay in getting this final entry really didn't help. I'd forgotten a lot of what happened, and didn't care about the characters, if I ever did. It's handsomely filmed, the visual effects are good, and there are some cool cast members, but yeah, just could not bring myself to care about what was going on.

Petyr Baelish being Petyr Baelish. I can't and don't want to see another Hunger Games, Divergent or Maze Runner movie. They're all the same execpt this one. This one is the worst. **SPOILER:** Why would you take down a company that tries to save the world? What is your problem?

And I must say, this was a rare time a franchise got better with the sequels. The first one was too much of an introduction for my liking. The second one built on that and made the situation more interesting, And with the final climax, I felt the story came together quite nicely. The characters grew and purpose felt clear. I would go as far as say the Maze Runner is probable the best of the survivor franchises that came out around that time.

An overlong but often fun conclusion to the trilogy. I enjoyed the action scenes and put up with the ridiculous plot. Too many characters that are good then bad then good and too many overly dramatic, eye rolling, saved in the nick of time moments. Weakest of the trilogy but not as bad of a drop off as the last Hunger Games movie was.

I saw the first two Maze Runner movies almost back to back three years ago. Therefore I had forgotten everything. Thankfully the plot is so basic, that you could skip the first two movies entirely. Does amazing shit happen in this one? No. Are there good performances? No. Should I watch this movie? Probably not. But somehow I thought the movie was completely watchable. So, yay, I guess..

(lol, i missed 2nd film) bonus point for familiar faces (thought they dont make much difference). no intrigue and suspense like in 1st movie. and endless straightforward action. hour before the end i wished it had already ended - unexcusably long. probably that trilogy should have been a 6-12 episodes tv series.

It's like watching Scorch Trials again. The plot changes from the book left me scratching my head, because the motivations behind breaking into the bad guys' base did not seem worth it. However: despite the repetition and cliches, it's an acceptable conclusion to the trilogy... and how many acceptable trilogies do we have? 2? 3?

Better than the second, though needs to be shorter - every action scene could have a few punches, sprints, or gunshots shaved off. Not enough maze running though to be able to match the first. I can't remember Thomas being that close to either female character, they should have put in some scenes to re-establish that and every other relationship also (and remove even more of the more generic action to make up for the time).

Not very interesting. I feel like this franchise had more potential than say The Hunger Games or Divergent. However in this film it is completely wasted and things just don't make sense. The villain is annoying and boring, I am rooting for the people who the film is trying to vilify and the ending is pretty ridiculous. Devoid of emotion because of the ridiculousness of the plot.

Well, fits the series perfectly. If you like the previous ones you'll like this one to and vice versa. Nothing less, nothing more and I guess, that is a good thing to be this consistent? I would suggest rewatching Hunger Games instead of these.

After the first hour (which is just as boring and uninteresting as The Scorch Trials), The Death Cure manages to become an improvement over the second film of the franchise, but not as decent as the first. The film is filled with plot contrivances. Many times a character has plenty of time to do something they sit there and don’t react because the scene calls for something to happen. Most of the characters are uninteresting, the dialogue is still somewhat bad, the story is bland, etc.

Unable to compare the source material to the books, Maze Runner: The Death Cure is a B-rate, convoluted, action fest. Death Cure's story and character arch's are questionable at best, and every turn and twist is perfectly set up in almost an obnoxious way. Some of the set pieces and affects are well done, and I can't say I was bored throughout the duration. O'Brien has a lot of talent, and he should be taking it to better projects than what he was given here, even if it isn't that bad.

Plagued by production delays, The Death Cure seemed doomed from the start. It's not a particularly good film, so I wouldn't recommend it to the uninitiated, but I'm glad it exists to offer closure to those who watched the previous instalments (unlike the Divergent flop-chise). The film is more narratively coherent than its predecessor with some of the action set pieces being fun, but there is an overwhelming amount of plot convince and the 3rd act suffers from Gillen's underwhelming villain.

Idea for a drinking game/recipe for certain death: A shot every time there is a plot twist (or dramatic turn) an emotionally heavy moment. Or something that feels like an ending. :D Also: Wes Ball is good at casting. With J.J. Abrams and Christopher Nolan, I now believe we have a fourth Michael Bay. :) And now I know what do know next time I have to get out of a skyscraper quickly. Just jump out the window, totally safe.

At least it's not a zombie movie anymore. The franchise lacks direction and decided hey let's just introduce infinite deus ex machinas so that we can have a pretense of drama, and let a few kids destroy a whole organized society of people who have proper weapons and technology. Once done, they can go on an island or something. That movie is LONG too. Cinematography was nice though, fight scenes well choreographed, some decent acting in there, what a waste of talent on a lame project.

Underwhelming, but probably worth the rental or MoviePass. Like BladeRunner 2049, which I saw on the same weekend, there is a weird part where someone gets killed for what seems to be no reason what-so-ever. Also has the same kind of setting and action. I think maybe I'm actioned-out.

The Death Cure serves as a dissatisfying ending to an only passably serviceable franchise. The film reportedly seems to bear very little resemblance to the 2011 book of the same name. And while I haven't read the novel, I can't imagine an alternate reality in which this would be considered an improvement. The premise of The Maze Runner--pretty tenuous even in the beginning of the series--has lost all semblance of coherency by now. But even if you buy into that premise, the finale (which I won'

The only positive thing I have to say about Maze Runner: The Death Cure is that it's over, and we got to see it end. That might not sound like much, but I'd rather have a bland, uninvolving conclusion than none at all. The Death Cure might not be anything of consequence, but at least we got a conclusion. Maze Runner isn't a series that anyone is going to miss, I don't think, and I'm glad that this is the promised ending. They're too bland to hate or love.

Western tarzı iyi. Üç Silahşörler tarzındaki film, İsyan şehri ile dışındakiler arasındaki mücadeleyi izliyoruz. Bu arada, Minho'yu kurtaracaktır. Oyuncular, rollerini çok benimsemişler. Görsel efekt ve atmosfer şahane. Fakat çok uzun. Kurşun sahneleri çok saçma. Filmin sonunda, Teresa. Kaybetmeyi bilmelisin.
