Enjoyable historical romance-the leads fit the parts perfectly and the setting and music help carry the film along.

A romance story based on true events filled with clichés and powerful moments. The line that stuck with me was when after giving her a ring symbolizing his undying love for her, Boyer asks what she wishes for and she replies..... "That I die first". Boyer was perfectly gallant and Darrieux was absolutely stunning as the blooming young beauty with big sparkling eyes. Definitely a love movie worth seeing!
