Max Linder plays the nonchalant, noble nobleman, charmer and vivemann Count Pompadour. Comte Max has been keeping an eye on Ketty, the pretty daughter of a circus director, for some time. Since her father, however, accepts only one man from the circus industry as a father-in-law, Max must now make a powerful effort to acquire an artistic armor. As a result, the millennium is going through an acrobatic speed course in six lessons and makes another passant to the lion tamer.

The last film of the legendary comedian Max Linder! Actually half of the film is lost, but thankfully a 33 minute Spanish edit exists giving us a good idea what Linder's final work was like before he and his wife killed themselves. A little all over the place as you never get a real sense of his character which shifts from elegant to vulgar without much provocation. Makes for fun individual scenes, but the film as a whole doesn't click that well because of it.
