Mavka. Lisova pisnya

It's a "humans vs natural world" narrative and it's predictable, doing basically nothing to go outside of the norm. It does flirt with changing it up at the end, leading us to believe there might not be a super happy ending, but that ends quickly. But Mavka is really endearing and the forest is astoundingly beautiful visually. It's written well enough and there's some heart, so I was okay with all of it, even if I wasn't especially impressed.

It's the color cocktail that's the attraction for this Ukrainian animation film. The story is sweet, but hardly one that's exciting. So it lives on the visual splash.
