Four weighty portraits of women in the midst of maternal conflict - all of which are well shot and performed but can be frustratingly inconclusive. The central provocation on the subway does well to establish an unnerving atmosphere but never really proves itself as a unifying event. Still, kind of an overlooked Quarantine era gem and Sturgill Simpson isn't half bad at acting!
