Post-Get Out we've been bombarded with movies that amplify African American anxieties in horror settings. I eagerly await the slasher flick about a Black man applying for a loan. For now, Master fails on every level. The woefully inept mood lacks any visceral thrills or suspense. Idiot Ball moments bog down the social insight. Lastly, the editing constantly defuses any tension. Avoid...and instead watch other vastly superior social thrillers like Sorry to Bother You, Luce, or Attack the Block.

Üniversite korku filmi. Üniversiteye yeni kayıt olan 1 siyahi öğrenci, kaldığı öğrenci yurdu odasında hayaletler gelmeye başlar. Ona sadece 1 yönetici yardımcı olmaya çalışır. Eleştiri güzeldi. Regina Hall çok iyi. Bu arada, ırkçılık çok farklı 1 türde anlatıldı. Get Out izinden gidiyor. Filmin sonunda, çalışmıyorum. Siz benim neler çektiğimi nereden bileceksiniz.

“Master” is a film that should be seen and discussed. It is anchored by strong performances and a sharp script that highlights the real-life horrors of racism in academia. While its supernatural elements don’t quite hit the mark, the film’s main focus is its strength. Director Mariama Diallo pushes the audience to feel uncomfortable and confront the issues head-on.

Expected to be disspapointed, but not bad for a Prime movie

Barely horror, but at least not elevated horror. America's scariest ghost is racism and its colonialist past, of course, and it lingers through as unconfortable, unescapable presence in the lives of both an university master and a new student. Second half kind of falls short, often didactic -- dialogue is flat and too expository -- , but strong imagery -- all those white demonic faces, the bell ringing, the constante sense of dread in a gentle but hostile place -- and acting carry it through.

I'm somehow offended by this movie.

I absoletly loved Mariama Diallo's directing style in this film. But the script is really unnecessarily complicated.

Thoroughly enjoyed it in spite of the sometimes confusing editing that jumps from one scene to another with little continuity.
