The problem with this film is that it doesn't elaborate on anything or demonstrate to the audience that a particular event is of any significance - it doesn't tell us that we need to pay attention or to keep certain plot points in our mind, so it all just drifts by as sort of background noise. Then, as we get to the conclusion, the entire plot is negated by a fucking retcon.
