This is probably going to be a controversial opinion but I actually agree with wetwillies' review.

Steven Seagal anticipates Ryan Gosling's Drive jacket with his dragon/tiger number. "You JAMAICAN ME CRAZZAY" Hollywood needs to get a boner over Jamaicans again (The money shot being D2: The Mighty Ducks) . Seagal movies are my kryptonite, he just doesn't try at all and runs like a sissy CANT STOP WONT STOP.

Probably holds the record for the number of times 'bloodclot' is mentioned in a single film.

Viewed April 23, 2021. Noteworthy for being the movie where Steven Seagal fights a bunch of Jamaican drug lords who are also, for some reason, practitioners of voodoo. Beyond being cheap and offensive, this conceit is also poorly integrated into the film itself; the vaguely mystic backdrop has little to no bearing on anything else that happens in the film, Seagal still fights everyone by grabbing their arms and throwing them into things. Also, Paxton sucks.

Vaguely cool for it's Jamaican gangsters and gory violence, it's one of Steven Seagal's better starring vehicles, but it's still pretty crap.

Seagal is busting Jamaican limbs across the entirety of "Marked For Death," another trashy and stupid early 90s actioner. Why didn't the makers simply give Seagal a single character to reprise in all of his movies starting with 'Above the Law''? He could have had a 10-movie franchise. 'Marked for Death' is no better and no worse. You can't distinguish any of the man's films outside of 'Under Siege,' so why bother?

I often enjoy action b-movies, but as usual for a Seagal vehicle this one is far too distasteful and boring. Acting abilities are nowhere to be seen in this film, plot is simply dumb. Of course the only reason to watch movie of this type is action, but there is not much of martial arts show here, only gruesome, distasteful violence.

I was sincerely hoping that Seagal’s 80s-90s run would reveal some unjustifiably pilloried cheesy classics, but my hopes are dashed so far – lacking any of the charm or charisma of his compatriots of the era, it’s surprising how much Seagal sleep-walks through this, aided by fight sequences edited in an oddly (suspiciously?) jagged style, so that it’s never quite clear how much contact is actually being made; at least David can breeze through and steal the film away whenever he is on-screen.

This one suffers from the opposite problems of Hard to Kill, in that it places its focus on the action and the pacing is good, but it has such a non-story that it actually veered into the territory of almost too cartoonish and stupid to handle.

"Now Appearing: Masters of Reality." That pretty much made my day. Otherwise, this really could have used some subtitles. I just don't understand Jamaican.

If you like running ballistics on Chekhov's gun then the narrative turns in Marked for Death will definitely wet your beak. For everyone else there are Chicago area car chases shot in Los Angeles, compound assaults out of a Tom Clancy movie, and a baby faced Danny Trejo.

This one was good actually as the bad guys were doing drugs. Segal goes and fights them.

This one had me reevaluating why many of us enjoyed action movies of the 80s and early 90s. Well, it was just that, for the action. You weren't going for legendary acting or writing, you were going for fights, guns, car chases, explosions, etc. This one has all of that. Not my favorite of Seagal's, but entertaining nonetheless.

Seagal's son or brother or something gets shot in the head and his reaction is to look confused for a second then go back to his usual blank expression. Seagal doesn't really fight people in any of these movies he just pushes them over like a school yard bully.

Marked For Death is another early Steven Seagal feature that I'm guilty of enjoying. This one was really weird though. Other than the hilarious Jamaicans there's not much new here and most of Seagal's early films are hard to tell apart. The fight scenes are all decent and worth a watch and this is probably Seagal's most violent film. But the voodoo chicken slaying Jamaicans are absolutely ridiculous excuses for villains. And the twin twist at the end is woeful. But the triplets line is awesome.

I actually thought it was kind of boring. There are some interesting beatdowns but there really isn't anything redeeming about it. Points for some original fight scenes.

When Seagal could still be seen in theaters this was his most far out movie. Violence on the verge of gore and wall-to-wall action (including a nice car chase) results in the most actionpacked Seagal-movie ever and maybe the most entertaining.

I might be mistaken here, but is this the one where there was a sack of kittens or something thrown out onto the highway? If so, it scarred me something firece. To this day, I can't look at a bag or box in the street without thinking that an animal is in there... ='[

Steve's breakout movie, & one of his better. What it lacks in coherent plot it more than makes up for in pacing & bone busting action battles.

Your typical boring Seagal flick. If you MUST see this damned thing, get it on tape/DVD, watch only the fight scenes (which I admit are well-done), and skip everything else
