The first foreign movie to win a Oscar! And did so for Best Writing, Original Screenplay done by Richard Schweizer! That felt random. This was the only role the young leading girl (Josiane Hegg) ever did, and she did well. This wasn't exactly a challenging role, as the story of being a refuge, coming to a good home and not wanting to leave, relied mostly on just being gentle and nice. It's a sweet story within the troubled war times, and I guess people needed that at the time.
