WWI anti-war movie showing empathy for the common infantrymen and great disdain for the high ranks, who are portrayed as having too little regard for the lives of their underlings. Depiction of trench combat is fairly accurate, grim and unglamorous, but getting shot is poorly acted, as was unfortunately still the norm in 1970.
