Maniac Cop revives during his funeral and no one notices. ROBERT FORSTER OUT OF NOWHERE.

Funny how a six foot tall shambling zombie cop can hang out in a hospital for a few days without being noticed. IMMERSION RUINED!

Imagine if Cordell, in a one-night stand with some girl, got her pregnant and never found out. Now, his adult kid gets mistreated by police. And boy oh boy that makes him revive to kill a bunch of cops. There. I came up with that idea in a minute, it’s not good, but its better than whatever unjustified mess they were trying to do here.

Wow, they just did whatever with this one. The plot is terrible, the characters make no sense, and their actions are often unjustified. Like, the priest that revives Cordell does so because... he felt like it, I guess? And then Cordell wants to marry Kate, because... he feels lonely? How come no one noticed a giant monster cop walking around the hospital?! It was also so excruciatingly boring; at least make it somewhat entertaining if it'll be this maddeningly bad.

Wasn't As Good As The First Two Films But Overall Good Trilogy

Very few redeeming qualities but it has its moments and it carries on the franchise story well enough.

Ah, The Return of the Jedi of the Maniac Cop trinity. But don't get me wrong now, Badge of Silence is more like an ewok-party than a speeder chase through the forests of Endor.

Cohen and Lustig (with unspecified "additional scenes" credited to Soisson, one of the pic's producers) pretty much lose touch with Maniac Cop's original high concept in this unlikely sequel. The lenient-judicial-system theme reaches ridiculous proportions here, but the action sequences and Z'dar's menacing presence help salvage the day. This also features the best death-by-defibrillator scene seen on-screen since _Terminal Choice_. Forster shows up briefly

A simple story told poorly to the point that a lot of it becomes nonsensical.

Bizarrely stacked cast for this kind of low grade slasher sequel: Robert Forster, Jackie Earle Haley, Paul Gleason, Grand L Bush, Julius Harris, tons of cool cats. Story though is mostly just some Halloween 2-ass retread with Maniac Cop in a hospital the whole movie; makes the first two feel like comparative epics with their city spanning scope. Barely feels of a piece with its predecessors at all with its voodoo magic and shit actually.

Huh Criticker guessed exactly what I would rate this. The flick is mostly just there, neither good or bad. It's so very meh. The other two entries in the series are far better.

A big step down from 2. Cohen came up with a truly stupid way to resurrect the Maniac Cop (re: voodoo), and Lustig's direction lacks any kind of spark until the final car chase scene, which is quite tense and well executed but arrives far too late to make any discernible difference. The overall tone is dreary rather than moody, and there are long stretches of utter tedium that are barely relieved by the action or Davi, who appears to be playing a completely different character.

The third film in the "Maniac Cop" series is probably the most bizarre movie of the bunch. Everyone's favorite zombie police officer returns from the dead, again, but this time by way of some random voodoo magic. The movie is kind of an odd take on "The Bride of Frankenstein", but with a voodoo priest instead of a doctor trying to give our monster a lady cop partner. The movie's plot feels haphazardly thrown together, but the death scenes and the action sequences are rather impressive to watch.

Wiem, to zadna rewelacja. Wiem, poprzednie odslony byly dla wielu widzow lepsze. Tylko co ja biedny zuczek na to poradze, ze podczas seansu bawilem sie znakomicie ;) Stad i szesc z plusem. A Cordell to prawdziwy glina. Taki, ktory do pomieszczen wchodzi razem z drzwiami czy szyba. Kozak!

This is a hard one to watch. The lighting was pretty bad, which is kind of a pet peeve of mine. I like the character that Robert Z'Dar portrays, but it feels as if they might be running out of steam with this series. Several recognizable faces such as Paul Gleason, Jackie Earle Haley and Robert Davi helps give this movie some credibility, but this movie just doesn't do anything for me.
