John Woo fans rejoice! If you like his movies, this one is another one to add to the list because it's passable. It does feel like a B-grade/low-budget film, dressed to look like a blockbuster. The digital filming had a negative impact and made it feel fake. The action is delivered fairly well and in typical John Woo style tho. All of this certainly doesn't make up for the terrible and lazy plot, but for what it is, you might just enjoy it.

Doves and dual pistols, but lacks original 90s magic. Terrible editing.

The most satisfying 106-minute handjob a director ever gave himself. Partly a remake of Hot Pursuit, partly an all-out reference fest to every single Heroic Bloodshed movie John Woo ever made. From the 25-minute mark on Manhunt becomes a balls out action fest that goes completely bonkers in no time. Definitely a must-see for fans of Woo's older work like Hardboiled and A Better Tomorrow. The engrish tho

This was a disappointment. Not the return to bullet opera form I was hoping for from John Woo. The acting is terrible pretty much across the board and the script is garbage. When the gunplay is happening, it's a lot of fun, but even the editing, camera work, and especially the shitty CG blood is below par for a John Woo actioner. Skip past any scene without a gun in someone's hand.

action and the drama both fail to hit the right emotional notes. Woo borders on music video editing in a way he never did before despite his loopy excesses. action lacks teeth and has a gone before you know it feel. Theres no teeth in the drama either. The bland story and ludicrous direction share the blame on this front. I dont care about the characters or their sorrow so when you take minutes of runtime on slomos and flashbacks and spinning cameras Im gonna laugh then cringe that it's not over

The Best of John Woo stirred together in one silly movie that fans will probably love to death. At least the doves seem ironic this time around.

Passable action flick is distinguished by Woo's stylish direction, and some gorgeous cinematography, but bland and predictable plotting weighs the film down; a sort of re-tread of THE FUGITIVE (even bringing in a pharmaceutical company as villain!), it lacks a sense of urgency and drive; meandering when it should be flying. Zhang and Fukuyama make a fun pair of antagonists.

John Woo basically parodies himself as the movie features everything you associate with a John Woo flick. Even though the story is bland and almost no one who speaks "English" is able to speak the language properly, the action scenes are insanely over the top and fun. Also, massive amounts of kitsch.

Its a John Woo film, but there is something missing. It feels a bit hollow. Still fun, but could have been something great.

Woo returns also to the style of his most famous works with this. The plot is the typical Hitchcockian wrong man at the wrong time and place set up which in Woo hands leads to almost constant action scenes. Those scenes while still enjoyable don't reach the artistic height of Woo's famous bullet opera's. The laughable English most of the characters speak to each other, because of the international cast, drags the acting down a lot.

It's awkwardly edited and undoubtedly some plotlines could either be developed a little more or cut out entirely. Nevertheless, it's wild from start to finish. There is vibrancy and romanticism in every frame. It's clearly a passionate project for John Woo, and if he's having fun, then so am I.

When it works - usually when there are motorcycles nearby - it really works. When it doesn't - generally when people are talking - it really doesn't.

The beginning and ending suggest that the filmmakers were trying to hark back to or evoke “old movies”, but what is intended by the latter seems to be Hong Kong action films from the 1970s or 1980s. In any case, with that in mind, this movie is highly recommended for those who love nothing more than hearing great dialogue being performed by great actors. Trust me.
