In some strictly supervised society of the near-future, novelist Adam Gregor feels ill at ease. Official censorship keeps check on his every move. His wife is a conformist. In a fit of anger, he pushes her into a stairwell. Did he kill her? This brave new world does not acknowledge the concept of guilt, so how can Adam atone for his sin?
