In the early 1800's, a group of fur trappers and Indian traders are returning with their goods to civilisation and are making a desperate attempt to beat the oncoming winter. When guide Zachary Bass is injured in a bear attack, they decide he's a goner and leave him behind to die. When he recovers instead, he swears revenge on them and tracks them and their paranoiac expedition leader down. (imdb)

Unique adventure film based on real-life mountain man Hugh Glass. Richard Harris gives a great performance as you would expect, and Henry Wilcoxon is surprisingly good as the Indian chief. Marred by a subtle anti-Christian theme and silly dialogue between Capt. Henry and Fogarty. I liked the ending.

I fell victim to the revenant hype. I’m man enough to say it and seeing where it got its influence from directly is cool. So brutal and pummeling
