A haunting inheritance experience from Hammer Films. Got the cliches going. Sometimes it works, but the evil people didn't glare their wickedness as strong as they should have to make this the chilling piece it wants to be. Sidney James was leagues better than them at that, and he was the good guy.

It's funny seeing Sid James play an aristocratic type instead of, y'know, Sid James, but other than that there's not much that stands out. The direction is pretty lacklustre and all the plot twists are telegraphed from a mile away. It's watchable, but not especially interesting.
