Heaps and heaps of pleasures from this movie - listening to the Inuk cast in their native tongue, haunting soundtrack (at times a fever pitch intensity of a horror film), visual splendor, a sense of urgency. Canada takes, translates, and reworks the plot (The Searchers) to fit another culture. Taking the basic premise, boiling it down, keeping the elements that work. And the vast snowy landscapes. WOW.

A film of actual importance. To me it's just as good as it's English counterpart.

The director intro'd this film by saying it's like the John Ford movies he saw as a kid at the local rec centre filtered through an Inuit lens. A great, important film.
