They got a good selection of people together, but given to the breadth of what they try to cover, this stays fairly superficial. At times feels more like a company promo video.

Illuminating and insightful documentary combines insight from well-chosen pioneers (Murch, Burtt, Jackson) with the film-makers who used them, while also providing an exhaustive history of sound in film as well as a fascinating breakdown of the different elements. Perhaps leans into the technical and wonky too much for casual viewers, but an invaluable guide and peak behind the curtain for the interested.
