One of Sion Sono’s lesser-known explorations of the suffering of contemporary youth (one suspects a rights issue prevented release), this is quite interesting and effective for a while, but it spends too much time with the kinds of interview snippets that pepper reality-TV programs of the sort featured here, and after a while the ideas seem to run out. Hikari Mitsushima looks very pretty with her hair up and off her face. Now I just need to find out who this Avril Lavigne person is.
