This movie's atmosphere is very similar to Big Momma's cycle, but waaay worse. The main badass hero is also a man acting as a confident older woman with an attitude, the only difference is that changing gender is not a part of the story here.We have a typical revolutionary teen and a middle aged man with a too young wife. It's not so funny as Big Momma and the jokes are based on rudeness. Levy's expressions are just pathetic and Alzheimer's NOT funny, damn it! For defense-it has its moments. Meh.

I needed a night where I could forget my troubles and laugh a lot. This movie provided that, so I gave it a fairly high number.

Inert and sorta airbrushed--all the conflict that this movie has, and it has a lot, gets smoothly wiped away pretty quick-like. Not particularly funny, either. And yet, it was kinda soothing on the old frontal lobe to just veg out in front of this utterly inoffensive trifle for an hour and a half.

Where to start? Eugene Levy's frantic, mugging, utterly grating performance (one good, brief scene aside)? The tiresome Madea (Tyler Perry fares a touch better in his other two roles)? The tortuous pacing, clumsy editing, and lifeless directing? The crass, predictable, inane script? The underfed, unresolved subplots? To be fair, there are stretches that are essentially painless. But they don't make up for the rest of it. It takes a nod from GHOST--and manages to be WORSE. Think on that and weep.

"The film remains buoyed by the same open heart that makes Tyler Perry's best work so endearing." - Calum Marsh
