I was hoping for a kinky women in prison type movie & it did get my hopes up for about 30 minutes, but I soon realized it didn't have salaciousness in mind. While the lesbian theme is both well-disguised & overt for the time , what kept me hooked was wondering about the writer's actual intent which seems to be an early version of the now decades-old cliche of presenting adherence to duty & country as awful. Thankfully, the heroine actually represents a more balanced, middle-of-the-road approach.
