A rarely seen French costume drama from 1941 based on the play Madame Sans-Gêne (1941) which brings us to the days of Napoleon the first. Production details look good with beautiful looking costumes and elegant acting. Didn't get too captivated with the story unfortunately. There is a little too much of them fancy themselves talking rather than moving the plot forward. Still a good film no doubt, and I'm sure fans of classic French cinema will appreciate it.
