MadS

Single-shot movies this complex never fail to astonish from a technical perspective, and it's wholly artistically justified here; but this would still be a pretty fresh horror movie even without that device. The plot will baffle you, but that's part of the experience and maintaining your attention levels does eventually answer things.

It's very impressive how they managed to film the entire movie in one shot. The switches in perspective from one character to another worked really well, and the story, albeit somewhat generic, is serviceable.

Just like most films that take the approach, the one-take aesthetic is impressive but doesn't rise above being a gimmick and feels like a way to compensate for a terrible script. MadS starts out promising only to get dumber and dumber as it moves along until I couldn't take anything seriously. Terrible performance from the first of the two woman leads also (who coincidentally looked just like Conan O'Brien's assistant Sona, not that that makes any difference)

It seems that the focus and effort went into creating the trick of continuous filming, forgetting about a more consistent script that went beyond following characters freaking out in the streets.

You do have to admire the French covering every person, woman especially in blood in their horror movies.
