Vivid, and in some ways (it must be said) beautiful, sounds and images. The working conditions and worker testimony, particularly on the futility and dangers of organizing, will shock many. Prevailing wisdom is that the West is in many aspects embracing a clean, even spartan minimalism; perhaps this is in part an illusion enabled by having swept all the dirt, the sweat, the noise, the moving parts into a sufficiently ignorable corner of the world.
