Even though this was the middle of a John Cassavetes triple feature I was putting on for myself, I was really here for Peter Falk and Britt Ekland, both of whom I adore for sliiiiiiiiiightly different reasons. Good, but not great. You could easily forget about this one and I pretty much did after only a couple of months.

This would be an entirely disposable poliziotteschi flick if not for Cassavetes and Falk (and a small supporting role from Rowlands). They elevate the material a bit, but it's a big disappointment that Falk and Cassavetes never even share a single scene together, and Falk's character literally hops on a plane and flies out of the movie with an entire act left, never to be seen again. What a poor script decision.

Decent but unremarkable heist/action film very much of its time. This probably only could have been made from about 68-73 or so. When Rowlands appears (all too late) the rest is pretty interesting, but everything that comes before is pretty familiar, though fine, and it gets quite slow at times. Seeing Cassavetes and Falk is always good, but they don't interact much at all. Just fine at best.

Esse filme é cheio de gente que amo, mas ele tem muitos problemas, a começar pela edição.

You're going to watch this regardless, but FYI it's really not good or worth you're watching it. It's not good in a lot of different ways: the Italian screenwriter, John's acting, the ending. Peter Falk and the genre just can't save it.

Cassavetes stalks around with a predatory hunch, but it's less eventful than you might think.

John Cassavetes and Peter Falk in a gangster flick! Too bad it sucks. The scene where Rowlands pops up is the only one of value.
