It does get points for the bits of intriguing stuff going on, but the so-called twist is made rather obvious way too early & the dynamic between the mother & daughter blatantly just doesn't make sense. The plot feels really stretched thin, too, & that makes things drag quite a bit for most of the runtime. The opening is silly & is never explained well enough, & no character is really sympathetic or interesting enough to care for. There are flashes of Bava Jr.'s talent, but not quite enough.

There aren’t particularly sympathetic female characters in this. An odd and creepy effort, made with some care and talent, a decent score, and featuring some surprising and enjoyably unpleasantly moments. The cast is good, although the Louisiana-flavoured dubbing on the version I saw was pretty naff. One of Lamberto Bava’s better efforts; it feels like a modern take on one of the gothic chillers his father might have made. Worth a look.

This benefits from a good Southern gothic mood and some decent performances, but the writing leaves much to be desired; the central mystery is too predictable, but above all the character of the daughter is underdeveloped and the relationship between the mother and daughter should have had a more prominent role.

It's a bit slow in the middle but overall enjoyable and it really has some shocking scenes that you seldom see anymore. The twist is shown in the trailer which is *insane*, why would you do that? The daughter is way too evil with no real explanation.

Inspired, according to the opening credits, by "true incidents that took place in New Orleans a few years ago". While not as riveting as Pupi Avati's _Revenge of the Dead_, this certainly ranks among the best frozen-head-in-a-fridge necro chillers I've seen.
