The poverty row studio Tiffany Pictures' answer to the The Jazz Singer (1927). Not nearly the sob story, but George Jessel was basically Al Jolson, and with this being a part-silent/part-talkie, there was more than one similarity in the vibe of this Lucky Boy (1929). Plenty of corny moments, but they tried here, so it ends-up being a decent picture. Poor man's Jazz Singer, if you will.
