Short, to the point, and really effective; where the ordinary home-invasion thriller simply has everyone not believe the victim, this goes "Duh?" Personal and societal trauma and denial cracking but never shattering.

Lucky falls into an oddly common subgenre of horror called, "Movie with a unique premise that's actually just a Home Invasion movie and we won't explore the premise" It's unique time loop premise and witty jokes, are thrown out constantly so the movie can hammer home it's main message. At no point does the script trust it's viewer to understand a single bit. Themes are explained and repeated with the same phrases so often, it felt like Shudder was going to quiz me on it after the movie finished
