Love the Hard Way

Adrien Brody plays some sort of PUA douchebag who negs a girl, causing her to fall hopelessly in love with him and behave like a psycho stalker - so of course he ends up falling for her too. Stupid, stupid, stupid, but Brody is gorgeous even in douchy-looking PUA getup.

I want to rewrite this premise as a satirical comedy because the chars & situation are absurd. It’s basically the story of 2 pisces archetypes caught in a codependent feedback loop of victim & savior, of self sacrifice & self pity, dragging each other lovingly(?) into the bleakest emotional depths with twisted reactionary avoidance & complicated sincerity. It pretty well summarized all my teenage angst, but is it good? It’s a bummer but also emotionally hyperreal. Like Secretary without consent.
