In order to raise money to produce a play (as well as prove that the plot isn't ridiculous), Michael McCreigh makes a bet with his Uncle Carlton that he can begin in Central Park in his underwear and, without paying or borrowing for transportation, get to California in 10 days with a decent suit, $100...and a fiance. One of those lovable mid-30s screwball comedies. In this one we have Gene Raymond starting out in the city park in nothing but his underwear and having to travel across the country in 10 days AND find a girl all because of a bet. And along the way he meets Wendy Barrie, and they are a match. Playful and honest with her aunt Helen Broderick both as obstacle and glue. They sure knew how to make romantic comedies back then! Heaps of fun and one in the genre that's been under the radar way too long!
