Heavyweight actors up-front doing what they do best, but the rest is mostly a dreary piece of depression era propaganda signed President Franklin D. Roosevelt. We focus two classes. Lewis Stone, the rich man owning the department store and Lionel Barrymore, the little guy, getting fired and having to reestablish himself. And we follow them battle the struggling financial times having to think fresh. Being a MGM film, the production values are polished. The story human and relaxed.
