Thought-provoking, beautiful, ingenious, though slightly manipulative, editing of Bergman's films with interviews and behind-the-scenes footage.

Ullman speaks quite candidly about her unique relationship with the master film maker Ingmar Bergman, and it's quite touching to see how they remained friends after 40+ years, even after the considerable hardship he supposedly put her through for years after their child was born. But it also crosses the thin line separating melancholy nostalgia from cloying sentiment, and it's in those moments the film becomes harder to swallow. I also suspect that she is an unreliable narrator.
