Little Boxes

Another well-made independent film, which appears to depict the struggles of not only transitioning from the city to the suburbs but also adjust to new surroundings and more importantly the people around you. It's not flashy but it's decent.

If the synopsis looks appealing, I'd highly recommend watching this. It's nice to see a movie where heroes realize that American life has put them into boxes via race, class, and gender. The screenplay can be messy as some plots and themes aren't wrapped up by the end. Still, the good moments and tough conflicts could lead to insightful discussions--especially with young kids or people of privilege. It's admirable, even if the aesthetics make it feel more like a television pilot than a film.
