One of the most fascinating aspects of post-WWII films is the German ones trying to make sense and cope with the evil they'd just been a part of. Wolfgang Liebeneiner's Liebe '47 [Love '47] (1949) is one of those. Taking place right after the war when everyone was poor and struggling, two unhappy people meet and tell their experiences in flashbacks, along with psychological issues where we get inside a man's nightmares. Absurd, tragic and beautiful all at the same time.
